Sleeping seven hours a day, heart is best.
A meta-analysis conducted by researchers at Tongji Medical School in Huazhong University of China and the School of Public Health at the University of Iowa in the United States suggests that people who sleep too much or too little have a higher risk of death or cardiovascular events, and those who sleep about 7 hours a day are at the lowest risk.
In a number of specialized biomedical related databases, the researchers systematically searched for prospective cohort studies published before December 1, 2016 to investigate the correlation between sleep time and the consequences of 4 cardiovascular events in the overall healthy population. Data analysis showed that there was a U-shaped correlation between sleep time and the consequences of 4 cardiovascular events. Specifically, for every 1 hours of sleep reduction compared to people who slept 7 hours a day, the risk of death and cardiovascular disease increased by 6%, the risk of coronary heart disease increased by 7%, the risk of stroke increased by 5%, the risk of death increased by 1 hours per hour, and the risk of cardiovascular disease increased 13%, The risk of coronary heart disease increased by 5% and the risk of stroke increased by 18%.
The study, published in the Journal of the American Heart Association, argues that moderate sleep time, like proper diet and active exercise, can replenish the body's energy, regulate physiological functions, and reduce the risk of cardiovascular disease.Sleeping more sleep less, are bad for heart health, it is recommended that everyone to ensure 7 hours of sleep every day.
